A Matter of Historic Consequence
Today, November 6, 2012, we are being given an opportunity to weigh in on the values and vision that have driven Obama’s presidency. How we vote will determine the direction of this nation for the next decade. So much is riding on our vote. This nation is teetering on the precipice of great success or a devastating demise.
To borrow words from the brilliant Rachel Maddow, “If Barack Obama does get a second term, given the achievements of the past four years, he will likely be enshrined as being one of the most consequential presidents in modern American history. If he does not get a second term, he will be seen as a one-term President whose political failures in not achieving a second term will ultimately over shadow what he achieved in terms of policy. That is what we will decide today. That is why today is such a big deal.
This is about one of the most consequential presidencies ever and how it will be remembered and whether the achievements of that presidency will be held or whether it will be clawed back. This election is worth being excited about. It is worth you taking a part in it, no matter how hard somebody tries to make it for you to do so. This is a big deal!”
