Chicago’s 2012 city-wide Buy Local campaign is produced by Local First Chicago in partnership with the City of Chicago’s Department of Housing and Economic Development, the Office of The City Treasurer, Choose Chicago and Chamber and Business partners from dozens of neighborhoods. The campaign, “Unwrap Chicago: Eat, Drink & Buy Local”, has launched and citizens are taking a pledge to shift a portion of their spending to local businesses this holiday season. In addition, the blog, “50 Great Businesses in 50 Great Wards” is posting stories about locally owned businesses.
About 3 weeks ago, Sonja Cassandra Purdue, Founder of Chicago’s Black Business Network contacted me via LinkedIn to ask if I would be interested in interviewing a business owner for a blog article to be published in December.
