Akira Boutique Party Supports YWCA Future Leaders Council
Naila won a shopping party at Akira boutique in Wicker Park. The event was scheduled from 6:30 to 8:30 and included champagne and cream puffs. We received 10% discounts on all purchases and a portion of the sales will be donated to YWCA Chicago.
Our fearless leader, Myesha Maloy posing with an Akira find.
Nicole’s friend found an exciting gold top for her night out.
Our Akira stylists were fierce themselves. Personable and vibrant, they were the perfect hosts. Karen (a.k.a. Barbie) and Damien took good care of us. Damien was so good at choosing styles for us that several women in the group left with three or more items.
He pegged Adrienne’s style so well, that she wanted to buy everything he gave her to try on. She eventually told him to stop attacking her wallet. What amazing service for so late in the evening! We love you, Damien!
This Akira in Wicker Park is a must have experience. There’s so much pretty, I reached my sparkle limit!
I adore the Akira boutique. The colors are lush and vibrant. The clothes are sexy, stylish and demure. There’s something for everybody.
Nicole and I were both drawn to this purple jacket.
Myesha is such a great little sister. She purchased two dresses as gifts.
She couldn’t leave without this shrug. It became a mini-obsession.
A picture of me taking a picture. Hello
So much pretty. Myesha found some clutches as well. They were on sale – buy one get one free. What?!!
Chandra did a bit of shopping when she first arrived.
I finally cornered her for a photo.
Food and Drinks at Las Palmas
After a fun evening of shopping, we returned to Las Palmas for dinner and drinks.
At Las Palmas, our waiters were friendly, funny and absolutely adorable. If you’ve read my earlier reviews, you may know about my streak of bad service at restaurants in Chicago. This put that streak to rest. Las Palmas has amazing service and absolutely delicious food!
We ordered ceviche, empanadas, cameranos and guacamole. It was all delicious. The drinks are spectacular as well. Especially the coconut mojitos. The house tequila infused with pineapple and vanilla was surprisingly smooth and delicious.
My last photo of the night. At this point, I was teasing Chandra about her “I’m still sober voice” as she finished her second mojito after a tequila shot. Good times!
