BBQ in Flight

My husband and I have eaten at Chicago q twice and both times have been delightful.  This is upscale bbq at its most approachable.  Expect more complex flavors, a dressy decor and quiet surroundings.  The service is also great.

Serving sizes are generally enough for two people.  Especially this selection of delicious sides:

  • Yukon Gold Potato Salad
  • Poblano Cheddar Cornbread
  • Braised Greens
  • Honey Butter Cornbread
  • Coleslaw
  • Buttermilk Mashed Potatoes
  • Kobe Brisket Baked Beans (My absolute fave!)
  • BBq Flight – Kobe Brisket, Pulled Pork and Pulled Chicken
Chicago Q - bbq flight

BBQ flight: chicken, pork and beef brisket with a variety of sauces and honey corn bread

Chicago Q - Peanut Brittle Salted Carmel Ice cream

Bert enjoyed the bourbon pecan pie and I tried the Espresso Brittle Ice Cream.

Chicago Q - Sherry

It was a great time. Believe it or not, Bert and I do not go out much. His job as a concierge usually calls for him to visit resturants with his group for special presentations.

Left-overs are Just Fine

Chicago Q - left overs

I made this meal for lunch the next day with my Chicago bbq left overs.  The baked beans and honey corn bread were still delish!

Chicago q in Review

I think Chicago Crain’s said it best….”Chicago q has an upscale take on barbecue, in gracious surroundings”
