In this age of smart devices, we are expected to be reachable unless we specifically say otherwise. A friend recently told me a funny story about someone who texted her and then called frantically 30 minutes later asking if everything was okay. Afterall, something had to be wrong if she took more than 5 minutes to reply to a text, right?
Instant communication has made immediate response the norm rather than the exception. Whatever happened to downtime?
