Cuisine: Grillroom Chophouse

Grillroom view of theatre

Grillroom Chophouse is located directly across from the Bank of America Theatre. On this particular evening, we were on our way to see a performance of By the Way, Meet Vera Stark at the Goodman Theatre.

Grillroom Chophouse is excellent for business lunches/dinners and office celebrations.  With the reasonable prices and somewhat casual atmosphere, it’s a suitable environment for a wide range of groups.

grillroom outside

The patio is great.  There’s enough cover to allow you to sit outside during rainy weather and enjoy people watching.

I ordered the american whitefish with giardiniera cous cous and lemon caper butter. It was absolutely delicious!!  This was the largest serving of fish I have ever received in a restaurant and it was cooked to perfection.  The fish was  flaky and flavorful with delightfully crunchy skin.

grillroom steak and mash

Konstance enjoyed a decadent 8oz filet, Oscar Style (lobster topping) with mashed potatoes and asparagus.

cuisine - grillroom 8oz

Dean enjoyed a 6oz filet with asparagus and a side of mashed potatoes.  She was generous enough to share some of those buttery potatoes with me.  They are a meal unto themselves.

There were several tasty looking specialty cocktails on the menu but we were drawn to the sparkling lemonade cocktail with cupcake chiffon vodka, st. germain elderflower liqueur, lemonade, and bubbly prosecco.  It was absolutely delicious.  It packed quite a punch as well.

Our dinner at Grillroom Chophouse was a wonderful way to begin the evening.
