and why you support its mission.

Teen Living Programs’ mission is to build community, hope and opportunity for youth who are homeless. We address their immediate needs and help them achieve independence and stable housing. TLP has focused on Chicago’s at-risk youth since 1976, and is the only agency in Chicago dedicated exclusively to serving homeless youth.  TLP has been a part of the Bronzeville community for over 20 years.

TLP intensively serves over 300 young people a year through a continuum of services that includes three residential programs-a 4-bed emergency shelter for minors, a 24-bed transitional living program, and a 10-apartment independent living program.  TLP reaches hundreds more youth each year via our outreach, prevention and aftercare program, which now includes our new Drop-In Center.  All young people are provided with wrap around support and the tools they need to succeed: intensive case management, employment, educational and recreational support; independent life skills training; and mental and primary health care.
