Reconnecting With Our Past

By Sherry Clayton, sherry563SherryClaytonWorks

One evening while my husband Bernard was recounting his day, he shared with me that he had plans to have dinner with his Spanish teacher from high school. That caught my attention. It’s not common for high school teachers to initiate contact after decades of silence.

Later that week, they had the dinner and Bernard told me how grateful he was to reconnect with his former teacher. A man who had once suffered a stroke but still has an amazing memory. It must be nice to be able to reach out to former students and answer the question of “Where are they now, and how have they been?”  And to think just maybe, something they did or said contributed to a good life.
